Terms of sale & licence
What you are buying, what you may do with it, and what happens if it is not what you wanted. Written to be read once, in plain language, rather than skimmed.
Who you are buying from
Karmam Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17275613, with its registered office at Suite 10921 5 Brayford Square, London, United Kingdom, E1 0SG. Reachable at support@ghostpane.com.
Payment is taken by Polar as merchant of record. They charge the correct VAT or sales tax for your country, issue your invoice, and handle the card — which never reaches us. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Polar's own terms as the seller of record for the transaction.
What a licence gets you
A perpetual, non-exclusive licence to install and run GhostPane in Cloudflare accounts you control, for the number of tracked websites your tier allows. It does not expire, there is no subscription, and no part of it stops working if you never speak to us again.
- Single site — $99, one tracked website.
- Team — $249, up to five tracked websites.
- Agency — $499, unlimited tracked websites, white-labelled.
- Free — no charge, one tracked website, and none of the paid features, which are absent from that build rather than switched off in it. It does not expire and it is not a trial.
Your licence key permits three activations, so moving to a new domain or a new Cloudflare account does not require asking us for anything. Need a fourth, for a reason as ordinary as a rebuild? Email us and you will get it.
What it is not
It is not a hosted service, and this changes what we can and cannot promise. The software runs on infrastructure you own and pay Cloudflare for, so we have no access to it, cannot monitor it, and cannot offer an uptime commitment for something we cannot reach. What runs in your account is between you and Cloudflare, under their terms and their bill.
Cloudflare's own limits therefore apply to you directly. Most deployments run inside their free tier; a high-traffic site, or edge mode on a busy zone, may need their paid Workers plan at $5 a month. That is Cloudflare's charge, not ours, and we do not receive any part of it.
Updates
Updates are published for at least twelve months from your purchase, and in practice for as long as the product is maintained. Applying one is a re-run of the installer against the same Worker and the same database: no migration, no data loss, and nothing to export. Your licence itself never expires, so a deployment left alone keeps working whether or not you take them.
Because nothing in your installation reports back to us, we cannot push an update to you and would not want the ability. You decide when, and you can decline indefinitely.
Support
Setup support by email is included for 30 days on Single site, 60 on Team and 90 on Agency, starting from your purchase. It covers getting the thing installed, connected and measuring correctly. After it lapses you are welcome to write anyway — questions get answered when there is time to answer them, without a promise attached.
What you may and may not do with it
You may:
- Install it for clients and manage it on their behalf. That is what the Agency tier is for, and white-labelling it under your own name is a feature of that tier rather than a breach of these terms.
- Modify the deployed code in your own account, read the database directly, and export anything in it at any time.
- Publish the dashboard for a site to anyone you like, and give your own staff or clients their own logins.
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense or publish the software itself, or any build of it, to anyone who does not hold their own licence — including as part of a product of your own.
- Share a licence key outside your own organisation, or use one key to place installs for other people who would each need one. Installing for a client under the Agency tier is fine; handing a client the key is not.
- Remove or defeat the licensing in a build in order to distribute it.
Refunds
30 days, no reason needed. The full policy, including your statutory rights, is on the refunds page. If a refund is issued the licence ends, and you agree to stop using the software and remove the deployment.
Warranty, and the limit of what we owe you
The software is provided as it is. We have tested it, we run it ourselves, and the documentation states its known limitations rather than hiding them — but no software is warranted to be free of defects, and this one is not either. To the extent the law allows, there is no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.
Our total liability to you, for anything arising out of this licence, is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for lost profit, lost data, lost traffic, or consequential loss. Two things are worth saying plainly rather than burying here:
- Edge mode puts this software in the request path of your website. It is built so that the worst case is a lost pageview rather than a lost page — nothing is awaited before your origin is fetched, and all measurement happens after your visitor already has their response — but the risk is real and did not exist before you switched it on. It is off by default, the measurement half turns off instantly from your own dashboard, and you should read how it works before enabling it on anything that earns money.
- The installer writes to your Cloudflare account. It is idempotent and never deletes, but it is your account and your responsibility to point it at the right one.
None of this limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
If these terms change
The version in force for your purchase is the one published on the day you bought. Changes apply to later purchases, not retroactively to a licence you already hold.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you bought as a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the law where you live.
